Enduata Emaa CBO

Enduata Emaa Community-Based Organisation is a youth-led non-profit community organization based in the Amboseli, southern plains region of Kenya. It serves the indigenous Maasai residing in Amboseli and beyond. Enduata Emaa means vision of the Maasai community in the local language. Enduata Emaa CBO was founded by Samuel Lekato, a member of the Economy of Francesco youth assembly in 2022. Enduata Emaa CBO is registered under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection in Kenya. The CBO is dedicated to promoting environmental conservation, restoration, climate change adaptation and mitigation, climate change awareness, eradicating illiteracy, women's empowerment, and sustainable community empowerment. The organization works closely with local Maasai communities through 3 key projects, such as the Green Planet Ambassadors project, the Maasai Women Entrepreneurship Training Project, and the Maasai Kids Education Project. The project’s focus is on tree planting, climate change mitigation and adaptation, women and youth empowerment, and improving access to quality education for vulnerable children. They aim at eradicating poverty, promoting transformative community change, greening the planet, eradicating illiteracy, and providing a perfect coexistence between nature and humanity.

 Together for a green planet

Green Planet Ambassadors aims to empower the community, young people, and local households to take active roles in caring for nature, take part in responding to climate shocks, protecting natural resources, and building a green planet together.

 A Journey of hope

The project currently supports children  and coaches them each semester. It aims at eradicating illiteracy in the community and making sure every kid gets the opportunity to join school. The pastoralist Maasai community has high illiteracy levels attributed to income inequality and dependence on pastoralism, a seasonal venture, and has been threatened by climate change. The death of livestock through constant droughts has contributed to the inability to pay for school fees, seasonal drop out, and the projects to fill the gaps and give every kid the opportunity to attend school. .
